Inspiring hope
Dreaming big
Ngà* is a trafficking survivor who arrived at our Compassion House in 2015 and restarted her high school years. Ngà dreamt of becoming a doctor but she thought studying medicine would be too difficult for her. After finishing high school, she faced tremendous pressure from her family to return home, find a job, get married and Ngà nearly gave up on her dream. Our team persisted in career-life consultation and Ngà rekindled her determination to pursue her dream. Ngà took a leap to move across the country, from Northern Vietnam to Ho Chi Minh City in the South. Now, she is a third-year university student, on her way to medical school! Ngà shared, “Pacific Links Foundation has always been a solid support system for me, motivating me to work hard everyday.”
What is the problem?
Poor education & job prospects
Disadvantaged youth often drop out of school to support their families
Gender inequality
There are fewer opportunities for women to access good education and job prospects
Marginalization
Migrant workers and ethnic minorities are especially vulnerable to trafficking and forced labor
Fake news
Limited access to reliable information & false job promises, especially for opportunities far away from home
Education
Modern slavery prevention
Give youth a brighter future
For over 20 years, we have been empowering women and youth to transform themselves and their communities to make a bigger impact.
