Resilience
H. is from the Dao ethnic group. At the age of 16, H was sold to a Chinese man to be his wife. A year later, H. was rescued and returned to Vietnam, but she was stigmatized in her community as a trafficking survivor, forcing her to drop out of school. A social worker introduced H. to our Compassion House in Lao Cai. . Through counseling and social skills sessions, H. has become more confident. H. went on to graduate from high school and university. H. currently has a stable job and lives happily with her husband and daughter.
Gratitude

By participating in the training, everyone can raise awareness, learn to protect themselves, their loved ones, and the whole community. We thank [Pacific Links Foundation] for bringing such a meaningful program to our company.”

Grit
"I’ve always struggled in English. I was very self-conscious when someone spoke English and I felt that learning to speak English was a very distant, impossible goal to achieve. GEMS provided me with a tablet computer, headphones, and the chance to study online with native English speakers. When I first started studying English online, I was very timid and afraid that I would be scolded. However, the encouragement and patience I received motivated me to really try. Every week, I registered for ETOP classes and self-studied English online. I was shocked to learn that I scored 7.5 points in English. I am very happy about my progress and no longer fear learning English. I believe that one day, I will be able to communicate in English with everyone who has helped me."

Courage
T. had the intention of working abroad, but after using PAXU’s Calculators, she realized the difference in the living costs between where she was currently living and where she wanted to move to, with increased risks. PAXU informed her migration decision and she decided that she would not go abroad to work. “I find the calculators very specific, which helps us to make better migration decisions."
