Why education?
In the remote and rural provinces of Vietnam, disadvantaged youth are often at risk for dropping out of school due to economic reasons rather than academic performance. We believe that by investing in the education of underprivileged youth, they will improve their economic prospects and ability to contribute to their communities.

Transforming lives
Courage
"My father died of lung cancer when I was in the 8th grade. My mother suddenly became the main supporter of the family and my 21-year-old brother had to drop out of university. SEEDS scholarships help cover my tuition fees, which allow my mother to save money and pay off our debt. Next year, I will be a student at Fulbright University, Class of 2025. Without the support and valuable advice from SEEDS, I could not accomplish these achievements. All I can say now is ' THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR EVERYTHING.'"

Resilience
"I was once an average student because I didn't have time to focus on my studies, and I thought of dropping out of school to help my parents farm. Fortunately, with the support and encouragement from SEEDS, I passed the high school entrance exam and for three years in a row, I was the top student in my class. I also received many awards in science and technology. My hard work and determination paid off when I got accepted into my dream medical school."

Gratitude
"In 8th grade, I intended to drop out of school to work and support my family. Fortunately, I received GEMS scholarship and I am very grateful that the program not only allowed me to continue my studies, but also giving me opportunities to develop myself and confidently reaching out to the world. After graduating, I found employment and learned a trade to provide for my family. I hope that I could pay it forward by sharing my story, giving advice to current students, and volunteering for the program."

Grace
"I entered the GEMS program in 2018, when my father had just passed away. I was devastated but knowing that my father wanted me to have a better life, I tried to rise above our misfortunes. Many people have said that I remain calm in difficult situations, but I like to sit back and find the best course of action that would best help me achieve my goals. I will continue to study well and take all the opportunities given to me."
