However, H.received our vocational training scholarship and with our career counseling, he found a clear direction for his future. He knew that he wanted to become a bartender. H. achieved his dream and he now works at a 5-star hotel in Da Nang. H. is still self-learning English, seeking and learning experiences and new recipes from world-famous bartenders.
Gratitude
After receiving Pacific Links Foundation's vocational training scholarship, C. became one of the main chefs at a top Korean restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. She works two jobs to support her family and rarely takes any days off from work. However, she took four days off to volunteer at our Summer Camp for girl students in our GEMS program in 2018 without any hesitation. C. shared, “I wanted to support the students with similar backgrounds to me as much as I could.”

N. received a scholarship to enroll in a baking and pastry training program in 2017. N. usually stayed on after each class to help his teacher in order to gain more experiences from him. Noticing N.’s effort, his teacher enthusiastically created many opportunities for him to practice his skills. After graduating, N. worked at various cafes and bakeries, which enabled him to learn more practical experiences and tips to start his own small bakery. During the COVID-19 pandemic, N. opens online baking classes to earn more income. He continuously seeks and creates new recipes for his bakery.
