Resilience
The Covid-19 pandemic brought devastating health and economic impact on communities around the world. A., a core leader, was among those affected by the pandemic. Due to declining demand for products made at her factory, she was let go from her job and had to move to Ho Chi Minh City to find work and take care of her family. Despite the hardships, she still continued to enthusiastically engage in activities, organize group activities in Tien Giang Province, and run group projects. Participating in EMMI inspired her to lead initiatives in her community and has instilled a life-long learning spirit in her.
Courage
In the early days of the project, Ms. N. always shook with fear when she stood in front of the crowd. She was never confident enough to share her ideas with others. Despite her fears, she participated in all activities and put in extra effort to learn all the skills that were taught. Now she feels confident in sharing her thoughts in front of groups and proactively seeking skills to learn and develop.
Gratitude
EMMI continues to build new women’s groups. Many EMMI members are now leaders of their own women's group. Having experienced it herself, T. knows better than anyone else how hard it is to lead a group; hence, she is always willing to help her peers lead their group and improve day by day.
