Empowering youth to end human trafficking
We raise awareness about the dangers of human trafficking in at-risk communities.
Pacific Links Foundation organizes outreach activities in the community and in schools to help raise awareness and increase skills to prevent trafficking.
We focus on...
Raising awareness
We raise awareness about trafficking, forced labor, and safe migration in communities, especially in ethnic minorities remote, and border areas to reduce trafficking and prevent the re-trafficking of survivors.
Community voice
At outreach events, people are encouraged to share their stories and experiences with trafficking. We also encourage them to share what they learn with their family and friends to safeguard communities against trafficking.
Partnership
We collaborate with local partners to organize outreach events.
We implement...
Community outreach
Events to raise awareness about trafficking among community members at markets in remote areas with locally and culturally relevant stories
School outreach
Events to raise awareness about trafficking for students in secondary schools, colleges, and universities
Pre-departure training for job seekers
Training in employment service centers and vocational schools to equip job seekers with knowledge and skills on safe migration, forced labor, and trafficking prevention
We are proud of...
Resilience
P. is from the Hmong ethnic group in Lao Cai, Vietnam. He had previously been an informal, unpaid worker in China. Before attending an outreach event, P. did not believe that men could become victims of trafficking. He was surprised to learn that he too could become a victim if he did not have the knowledge or skills to protect himself from the tricks used by traffickers.
Gratitude
“There are many students in our school who have been trafficked. These sessions are very meaningful for our students to have more information to know who could be trafficker and what they can do to protect themselves. I am very thankful to Pacific Links Foundation for organizing an outreach event at our school.”
Thang, Secondary School Principal
